Membership auditions for the BeckRidge Chorale take place twice yearly in September, December and January. These auditions are conducted privately with the Artistic Director and Conductor and scheduled by appointment. (No auditions are required to join Cherry Hill Singers.)
Auditions consist of the following four elements:
- Vocal Range - Voice Classification: Determines the upper and lower registers of the voice. Along with speaking voice, this element helps determine the most comfortable voice part.
- Interval Repetition: Designed to determine whether the singer can hear and repeat differences in pitch.
- Sight Reading: Determines whether the singer can recognize when pitch ascends and descends.
- Singing a Familiar Song: Determines voice quality and compatibility.
