Since our inception, the BeckRidge Chorale has been actively involved in the communities we serve. From participating in community events to our annual holiday trip to Plymouth’s Independence Village (Senior Residence), giving back is simply part of who we are.
Our greatest satisfaction comes when we can lend our time and talents to worthwhile causes. Throughout the years, we have contributed to many causes from the Michigan Humane Society to the Alzheimer’s Association. We have done benefit performances for Salvation Army and Angela Hospice. And we participated in the opening night ceremonies for Children’s Hospital Festival of Trees for a number of years.
Our organization has manned phones for Detroit Public Television and sung the National Anthem for the Detroit Tigers. Most recently, we did a benefit concert for the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit with a presentation of "Sing For The Cure." This performance, in conjunction with the Birmingham – Bloomfield Symphony Orchestra, was designed to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research.
Every year, we participate in Canton’s Relay for Life event. For twenty-four hours, we walk the path raising money for cancer research.
Since 1984, we have awarded nearly $50,000 in scholarships to middle and high school students to enhance and continue their education.
